To use this as a low maintenance auto defrost refrigerator-freezer, plug the refrigerator into the included timer accessory and plug the timer into your wall socket. The timer allows you to program an "off" period that will power off the unit and restore power after the set time is over. This helps to prevent ice buildup in the freezer compartment.
